Devexperts sponsors a team of software developers

Devexperts has become a sponsor of the scholar software developers’ team of the preliminary courses of Saint-Petersburg State University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics in the “2007 TopCoder High School Tournament”. This time the contest was supported by Purdue University (West Lafayette, Indianapolis, USA).

TopCoder contest is one of the most prestigious software development competitions in the world, amongst scholars, students and professionals. The online tournaments are held on weekly basis, but once a year all the participants come together to take part in the contest. Every year several thousand software developers from 49 countries participate in it. The TopCoder active participants are awarded in three nominations: algorithms, component design and component development.

The 2007 TopCoder High School contest was held on February 26 – May 19, 2007. The contest was proposed for the beginners in software development – for scholars. The participants had to develop computer algorithms for the tasks offered. The contest included four preliminary stages. The final stage took place on May 19, 2007 in Purdue University (West Lafayette, Indianapolis, USA).

The prize fund was 50 000$: 1000 participants won consolation prizes, 16 participants got a scholarship, the top winners won 12000$ in the team classification (4000$ per person), the team that was the second winner got 6000$ (2000$ per person).
